Staff engagement program: ANZ Breakout Festival


Bankers are not traditionally known for their creativity, so when ANZ said it wanted to foster creativity in its staff, and encourage every employee to “bring their whole self to work,” event planner Limelight Events knew it faced a challenge.


Brief


Develop a fully-integrated five-month global program to engage the 37,000 ANZ staff-members, encouraging creative expression and raising awareness of the internal ‘Breakout’ cultural development program.


Solution


Limelight worked with ANZ’s senior Breakout team to develop the festival, inviting all staff-members to submit pictures, sculptures, photographs, films and solo or group musical performances to the festival program from March to August 2007.


Technology


The bulk of information and entries were driven through a dedicated website, although live events were also held in Australia, New Zealand and India.
