Tamlyn Hex

Client Relationship Manager

Originally from Durban, South Africa, Tamlyn joins Business Events Sydney (BESydney) with a fresh and dynamic perspective as the Client Relationship Manager.

After obtaining a diploma in Desktop Graphic Design, Tamlyn began working within the field. After careful consideration, she decided that it was not the industry for her, leading her back to study Communication Science at the University of Southern Africa, while she assisted part-time with events. Communication science provided her with the skills and knowledge regarding human interaction and situational behaviours, securing her a role with a professional conference organiser, where she specialised in the management of sponsors and the exhibition component of events. In February, 2005 she decided that it was time for a change, making Sydney her new home.

Shortly after her arrival, Tamlyn joined Gartner as Sponsorship Operations Manager in which she was part of the Global Sponsorship Operations team managing the APAC region. Here she worked closely with all internal departments to deliver on clients needs, while she managed the exhibition, delivery and supplier relationship components of their events. With her father having his own exhibition company and her mother running her own craft show she was surrounded by events, travel and last minute deadlines her whole life, and it comes with no surprise that she has ended up in this industry.

Tamlyn is a passionate dirt bike rider, so Sydney offers her a great base to explore the topography that NSW has to offer, whilst still allowing her  to come home to dine at some of the most amazing award winning restaurants world-wide.

Through her sound knowledge and her passion for both events and Sydney, Tamlyn’s position at BESydney comes as a perfect match. She is responsible for developing and maintaining existing client relationships as well as seeking out new opportunities from existing ones, and will prove to be a great asset to the team.
