The magnificent new-year fireworks that burst over Sydney Harbour on 1 January already feel like the distant past, and we are well and truly into the swing of 2009. But what an exciting year it is set to be!
I do want to wish you a belated happy new year, and hope that you have been enjoying the new Vivacity group of festivals in our beautiful city as much as I have. Sydney truly knows how to celebrate, and it is invigorating to be part of these creative new initiatives that promote our food, culture and attractions.
And when it comes to promoting Sydney, one of the best places to do so is at the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME). AIME attracts leading international association meeting planners and business travel professionals, and is the ideal forum for Sydney to show the world what it has to offer.
So this year, I am proud to announce that BESydney will help the city host its biggest stand in the 17-year history of AIME. We will feature more than 40 exhibitors, host a cocktail party and performance, offer prestigious prizes, and launch the year’s premier event marketing tool, 2009 Event Planners Guide.
I do encourage you to visit us at stand 418. You will return with renewed pride in our city, and fresh hope for the future of our industry.
Regards,
Jon Hutchison AM
